This might be another cool app to use for the 5th grade Expressive Hands clay project. Check out how artist, Kelli Andersen, illustrated the human body for TinyBop's new series, Explorer's Library. Stop motion animation rocks!

American artist, Bill FitzGibbons has turned an abandoned underpass into a work of art. The underpass on 18th St. in Birmingham, Alabama has been transformed into a psychedelic light show. Check out more photos of the cool new addition here. What a wonderful first day of school! Day One Art students learned a little about each other, discovered the Art Room procedures, and made some super fly paper hats. HATS off to learning!
Tonight is Riverside's Meet the Teacher Night/Ice Cream Social. I can't wait to meet all the new students and say hello to all the returning sixth graders. This year is destined to be a GREAT one. Fifth graders will be changing the world with Street Art and exploring their own culture with Jaune Quick-to-See Smith. Sixth graders will be creating 3D dreamscapes with their Fantasy Tunnel Books and studying their family symbols with a clay Coat of Arms. To start the year every student will receive a brand-new artist journal. This will be a special place to experiment with materials, brainstorm ideas, and share your genius! Let's get this Smart Art Party started! Fifth graders, we will be studying a number of street artists this year, including one of the most famous, Keith Haring. Follow these steps to create your very own Haring-inspired mural! The library is already an exciting and interesting place, but these architects have taken it to a new level of fun! |
