Sixth graders are studying Medieval Art for their Family Coat of Arms project. This week students looked at examples of Medieval Art to find common themes, including religion, war, royalty, and muted colors.

In order to prepare for their next project, 5th graders researched artists who use alternative materials in their work. No more oil paintings and clay sculptures! Students found artists who use an array of interesting materials including trash bags, gun powder, icicles, car parts, and, probably the most exciting, BACON!
